catching up a bit

BARBIE BARBIE BARBIE BARBIE BARBIE Now that the deep dark depression has lifted its head, and finding out there is a real medical reason for my extreme fatique and mental stupor. I am finally feeling like I am able to participate in life. Last weekend I attended a meeting of my art group. the challenge had been to alter Barbie Dolls. Now in one of my past hobbies I had collected Barbies and had done many OOAK dolls. Since I hadnt been creative at all that month I just brought some of them. I certainly wasnt prepared for the level of creativity that got everyone going. of course they had seen a few dolls and then went home and LOOK OUT Barbie. pics follow. we had a Photographer from the Lincoln Journal Star come. boy was he surprised, he admitted to expecting little old ladies and dolls dressed in lace and ruffles. A gallery owner was also supposed to attend but couldnt make it. we hope when she sees the article and pictures she might just want a show for sure. of course we are getting ahead of ourselves but one must think positive. In the group picture I am being hidden by the bilious blond haired doll. my creations are the Transvestite doll, who is actually supposed to be Dr Frankenfurter from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Also mine is the butterfly doll in green and the mermaid sitting on a pier.

I also had a Wicked witch of the west, that I made when Mattel released all the OZ dolls at reasonable retail price but the WW was $250 and in porcelain only.

another note of intrest , 3 of the ladies work in the same office, when seeing what they did the men gave it a try too. also the guy in the picture is the SIL of one member, he gave a try when he saw what was happening. Who knew!
