Halloween ATCs
A Bit of Fun today, made some ATCs for my Oddart group--always fun to do the unusual. I used paint first, then layered with black inked dryer sheets that were distressed. then a little plastic ghoulie from Silver Crow Creations and a caption and boom it was done.
I love using the dryer sheets for backgrounds, they can look like seaweed, water, clouds, or whatever your imagination can think of.

closer look

here is a closer look at some of the table. of course like a dummy I forgot to take pics of my stuff at home, but at least I took a pic of Sara's carved bowls. they sold well too. in the suitcase you can see a few of my decorated books, I started out with 21 and only had 6 left. I loved the Mermaid box, it sold. I'm glad the pic shows my gypsy's life book too, it ws handmade with Japenese Stab binding. The main image ws in my stash for years and it was hard to use it. Sara is like me, somethings you make are hard to let go. But as items sold I was happy and had good vibes from the buyers. In the spirit of the event we gave a few things away, traded with other vendors and recieved like blessings.
Our booth
Mystic Fest 2008
Wow, being a vendor at Mystic Fest was a hundred times more fun than just being an attendee. We came home with such a joyeous glow in our solar plexus. We had darn good sales considering how everyone seemed to be feeling the pinch of the bad economy. Charlie, owner of The New Millenium( www.magicalomaha.com ), and organizer of the event gave up a considerable monetary amount to make it free admission for all. We had attendees from a 4 state area, many new to coming and many drop ins who didint know what it was and checked it out. Great Great news, Charlie wants to have some of our books and boxes in the store. That is like the greatest feeling ever. we came home with very little of our items. I am still beaming.

new stuff
Well this last month I have been at work making things for Mystic Fest. its a New Age gathering or convention with lots of booths. no one has had much homemade crafted things so that is my goal. I wil have many many handmade or hand re-decorated journals to use as journals or book of shadows etc. decorated tins and boxes to hold tarot cards or whatever. Planning on having Wiccan greeting cards. also might sew some silk alter cloths and small pouches for amulets. if time permits want to make some rune stones out of poly clay. just hope it all sells enough to pay for the outlay of the table and motel rm stay overnight.
I should have taken pics before i posted this but I havent yet, when will I learn to do this in the right order? promise to do it later today
Looking at my new years post, boy I better subscribe to my zines soon, cant afford the gas. and Yipee some altered bok round robins are starting. finally something that i like to do, much better than ATCs.
